CAMERON – San Andres Masonic Lodge #170 in Cameron announces its seventh annual Fish Fry Luncheon, to be held on Saturday, February 12 from 10:30 to 1:00 at Bea’s Kitchen, across from the courthouse in Cameron. Tickets are $8.00 each and patrons may dine in or carry-out. The menu features hand-breaded catfish, french fries cut from fresh potatoes, hush puppies, coleslaw and a homemade dessert. The public is also invited to stay and bid on items in the silent auction. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Lodge and the cleanup of the historic Port Sullivan Cemetery, on the Brazos River in east Milam County. The town of Port Sullivan was one of the county’s earliest towns, and although long abandoned, a cemetery remains which contains the graves of several noted Texans from the era. Tickets are on sale at True Value Hardware and Cameron Chiropractic Clinic, or may be purchased at the door. For more information, or to make a donation to the silent auction, contact E. J. Provasek at 697-2556, J. C. Wheeler at 605-0442, or any member of San Andres Masonic Lodge.
